Pete Wilden

Klaus Peter Wilden (also affectionately known as Pete, Heinzie, TROG and Pops, among others) died on Wednesday, November 19, aged 84, just shy of his 85th birthday. At the time of his passing, Pete was surrounded by loved ones in the treasured Woodbury, NJ, home he and his wife of 58 years, Dale, shared for nearly 50 years.
Pete was born on December 20, 1940, in Düsseldorf, Germany, and emigrated to the United States in 1947 with his mother, Ilse, and younger brother, Helmuth. They initially settled in Cherry Hill and later in Monroeville, NJ.
Pete graduated from Glassboro High School (1960), continued his education at Michigan Technological University where he acquired a bachelor's degree in civil engineering (1964) and subsequently attended the University of Michigan, earning a master's degree in business administration (1970).
His professional career spanned 55 years, and included stints as a project engineer with Standard Oil of California in Taft, CA, and as a sales manager with both the Trus Joist Corporation in Ames, IA, and Bradley Corporation in Mt. Laurel, NJ. In 1988, he pursued his passion and opened his own home inspection business, Twin Oaks, and worked in the industry until his retirement in 2019.
In addition to his love of inspecting homes and engaging with clients, Pete enjoyed traveling, spending time with family, reading, hiking and chatting with anybody and everybody. He was often found working on "Pete's Projects" around their home and in "Wilden Woods." Some of his adventures included traveling to many countries around the world and within the U.S. Some of his favorite destinations included the National Parks, particularly Acadia in Maine, where he and his family vacationed many times.
Pete was kind and curious with a desire to help others, and whose gentle, affable and easygoing personality often led to him enduring endless good-natured teasing from his family.
Pete is survived by his wife Dale (née Lewis), sons Bryn (Sharon) and Shane (Marieannette), daughter Kirsten, grandchildren Drew and Alyssa, brother Helm (Mary Lou) and many special nieces and nephews.
