Peter F. Farrand, 74, of Keene and formerly of Massachusetts, passed peacefully while resting after complications from surgery. at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon on Saturday, April 29, 2023.
He was born a son to Nellie (Tross) and Dr. Robert Farrand on October 9, 1948, in Lynn, MA. He was educated at Oakmont Regional High School in Ashburnham, MA. class of 1966. He continued his education at Western Colorado State and later on at Keene State College where he graduated in 1991 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business.
After being together for 20 years, on March 20, 2003, Peter and Joanne Gallant eloped to St. Lucia, Caribbean. They had been married for 20 years.
Peter had worked as the Director of Human Resources for Sullivan County for 16 years before retiring in 2014.
Peter had many interests in life. Some of them included playing golf where he got 4 holes in one, reading a good book, or traveling to a new destination.
Mr. Farrand is survived by his wife, Joanne Gallant. His daughter from a previous marriage, Emily Farrand of Ashburnham, MA., and his grandchild, Cecelia Sears. As well as his four siblings, Robert and his wife, Betsy Bolton of Lowell, MA., Suzanne Farrand of Chicago, IL., Martha and her husband, George Tsiatas of Wakefield, RI. and Nancy and her husband Jim Benson of Olympia, WA. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. He is predeceased by his Son Ethan Farrand.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made out in Peter's name to the Norris Cotton Cancer Center at Cheshire Medical Center in Keene..
Peter will be laid to rest at Monadnock View Cemetery in a private graveside service. All services are under the care of Cheshire Family Funeral Chapel and Crematories, 44 Maple Ave. Keene, NH. 03431. www.cheshirefamilyfh.com.
