Mr. Peter Scott Gariepy

Peter Scott Gariepy, 55, of North Attleboro, MA, a retired correctional officer with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024, at HomeHealth Hulitar Hospice in Providence, Rhode Island.
Born in Attleboro, MA on April 8, 1969, he was a son of Marcia C. (Capron) Samma of North Attleboro and the late Joseph Gariepy. Raised and educated in North Attleboro, he was a graduate of North Attleboro High School.
Mr. Gariepy was employed as a correctional officer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts having worked at both the Walpole and Norfolk facilities for almost thirty years before his retirement in 2019.
An ardent outdoorsman, he enjoyed time spent fishing, rides on his motorcycle, camping, bow hunting for deer and for turkey hunting.
In addition to his mother, he leaves a son: Brian F. Gariepy of North Attleboro, MA; his siblings: Steven Gariepy and his wife, Lucille (Leppert) Gariepy, of North Attleboro, MA and
Susan Gariepy of North Attleboro, MA; several nieces and nephews; his former mother-in-law: Frances Reynolds of North Attleboro, MA; extended family members, friends and colleagues.
He was the husband of the late Vicky Gariepy who died in 1997 and the brother of the late Betsey Gariepy.
Family and friends are warmly welcome to attend visitation with Correctional Officer Honors on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, from 9:00 am until 11:00 am in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, North Attleboro, MA.
A funeral service will immediately follow visitation on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at 11:00 am in the "Memorial Chapel".
Private burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery and Arboretum, North Attleboro, MA.
