Peter Paul Kizis Jr.
Paul Kizis went to heaven on March 19, 2025. He was surrounded by his family after battling a brief
illness.
He was born July 6, 1945 in Dallas, Texas, to Pete Kizis Sr. and Dean Kizis. Paul and his parents moved
to Wichita Falls in 1947. He remained in Wichita Falls for the rest of his life. Paul was in the first graduating class of Rider High School in 1963 where he was active in the ROTC. Paul went on to attend Midwestern State University where he was also active in the ROTC and Kappa Sigma fraternity.
Paul met and married his first wife, Alonkia Nayfa, while attending MSU. They married
in 1965 and had two daughters, Shannon and Shamayn.and remained married for 24 years.
When Paul was 21 he joined his father's business, Pete's Packer Service Company, where he
manufactured and sold oilfield packers. Paul learned all there was to know about oilfield equipment and
opened his own wholesale oilfield supply company, Kizis Sales Company, which thrived for 35 years
before he retired.
Paul married Nancy Gail Dowd on July 4, 1995 and gained two step daughters, Sarah and Adrienne. Paul
and Gail enjoyed riding motorcycles and spending time with all their children and grandchildren. At the
age of 56 Paul suffered a massive stroke that nearly took his life. He miraculously survived and lived an
active life for another 23 years.
Paul was an intellectual genius. He could read and memorize anything by the age of 2. Paul was a
regular at the Wichita Falls Public Library and read a book a day every day. Everyone loved to pick his
brain for information. He never met a stranger and enjoyed spending time at Starbucks meeting new
people and seeing old friends.
Paul loved his family, Israel, hockey, soccer, and coffee. He celebrated 35 years of sobriety this year. He
was the rock of our family and his memory will remain a blessing to us all.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Dean Kizis, and his sister Jan.
Paul is survived by his wife of 29 years Nancy Gail Kizis; his daughters Shannon Green and husband
Jayson, and Shamayn Kennedy and husband Michael; his step daughters Sarah Sultenfuss and husband
Nick, and Adrienne Kiesel and husband David; and his grandchildren Taylor Green, Kaelei Kennedy,
Presley Kennedy, Elora Kiesel and Arden Kiesel.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation in honor of his
grandchildren Kaelei and Presley at www.umdf.org, or Hospice of Wichita Falls at www.howf.or
