Peter Laskaris

It is with great sadness we share that Peter Laskaris passed away unexpectedly at his home in
Westfield, New Jersey on Thursday, February 10, 2022.
Born in the Bronx to Taxiarchis (Ted)and Evonthia Laskaris, Peter grew up alongside his older brother Van in New York, NY and Athens, Greece until his family moved to Monmouth County, NJ.
After graduating from Howell High School, Peter completed his undergraduate work at Stockton State University and went on
to earn his Masters in Business Administration from Seton Hall University.
Peter enjoyed a 25-year career at Prudential and impacted many of his colleagues with his
warm personality, kindness and willingness to help others. He served in several key roles
including Business Metrics and Analysis for the Wealth Management Solutions Division and
most recently as Vice President and key member of the Business Management team for PGIM
Investments.
Peter had no greater love than the love he had for his family. He is survived by his wife
Elizabeth (Betsy) and twin daughters, Kaitlin and Noelle. They were truly his three greatest
treasures on Earth. Peter was extremely active in his daughters' lives and served as a youth
softball and basketball coach for many years in Westfield. Nothing gave him more joy than
watching Noelle play softball over many seasons and Kaitlin dance at numerous competitions
and recitals.
Peter is also survived by his aunt Athina Oikonomou, uncles Elias Karveli and Lykourgis Karveli,
and many cousins, with a special love for Renia Karveli. Peter leaves behind many brothers
and sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly, along with a
wonderful close-knit group of friends who feel his absence immensely. Peter was preceded in
passing by his parents and older brother, Vangelis.
Family and friends will gather from 2:00-4:00pm and from 7:00-9:00pm on Tuesday, February
15 at the Dooley Colonial Funeral Home at 556 Westfield Ave, Westfield, NJ 07090. A Mass of
Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am Wednesday, February 16 in the Parish of St. Helens,
1600 Rahway Avenue, Westfield.
