Peter Ruf Obituary

Peter was born on April 29, 1961, the fourth of six children of the late Margaret "Peggy" Kelly and the late David Ruf. He was known for his larger-than-life personality, generous spirit, good humor, and his warm presence that could brighten any room. Much of his career was spent as a car salesman at Beacon's Freedom Ford, where he not only made good deals but, more importantly, made lasting friendships. Peter had a zest for life, enjoying every moment to the fullest, and many will remember him fondly.
Peter leaves behind his wife, Cheryl, and their beloved son, David. He was predeceased by his older brother, Dave, who was married to Barbara, and is survived by his cherished siblings: Kathy Anderson and her husband Bob, Patricia Ruf, Kelly Igoe and her husband Jim, and Chris Ruf and his wife Debbie. His presence will forever be missed by his Aunt Ginny Wagner and her husband Rich, along with his nieces and nephews: Meghan Berry and her husband Jeb, Mariah Ruf, Kelly Rose Ruf, Katie Ruf and her partner Denzel, Michael Anderson and his wife Amanda, and Brian Anderson and his fiancé Tiffany. While Peter was predeceased by his cousin Michol Ruf-Brower, he leaves behind many treasured cousins, including Karen Wright, Maureen Mullaney, Jerry and Eddie McElduff, Karen Hearn, Susan Ruf, Bernadette Ruf, Pete Ruf, Bernard Ruf, Heidi Blackett, Ursula Rogers and Tina Wert, in addition to numerous friends.
Family and friends will gather on Saturday, November 9 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Riverview Funeral Home by Halvey, 2 Beekman Street, Beacon. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 1 p.m.
Memorial donations in memory of Peter can be sent to Beacon Volunteer Ambulance Corps, PO Box 54, Beacon, New York 12508.
