Philip Ardan Beardsley, born on September 5, 1948, in Moline, Illinois, was the embodiment of dedication to his country and community. He was the son of Clifford and Dorothy (Wells) Beardsley and carried their values of hard work, integrity, and service with him throughout his life.
Philip's journey in education led him to St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa, where he pursued a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering. This educational foundation would become the cornerstone of his career, where he tirelessly contributed his skills and expertise as an engineer at the Rock Island Arsenal for over 25 years. His dedication to his work was unwavering, a testament to his commitment to excellence.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Philip found joy and solace in his hobbies. He had a deep appreciation for automobiles, often immersing himself in the world of cars, from classic beauties to modern marvels. He was an avid hunter, embracing the great outdoors, and found relaxation in the precision and discipline of marksmanship. Philip was a proud member of the NRA and the Davenport Shooting Club, organizations that resonated with his passion for firearms and responsible gun ownership.
In the hearts of those who knew him, Philip will be remembered not only for his dedication to his work and hobbies but also for his unwavering commitment to the principles and values that make America great. He embodied the spirit of a true patriot, cherishing the freedoms and opportunities this nation offered.
Philip is survived by his sister, Laurie (Richard Kramer) Beardsley. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Dorothy Beardsley.
