Philip Griffin Connell, 81, of Roebuck, SC passed away Monday, February 3, 2025. He was born in Monroe, NC on August 6, 1943 to the late Marvin and Audry Braswell Connell.
After attending Monroe public schools, Philip attended NC State University, where he earned his bachelors in Forest Management. He then enlisted in the Unites States Army, proudly serving his country. Philip was a partner, and eventually owner, of Piedmont Forestry Consultants and Connell Realty. He was of the Methodist faith.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Georgia Hines Connell; sons, Mark Connell of Greenwood, SC and Brian Grigg (Alena) of Revere, MA; grandchildren, Rachel Gingrich (Travis), David Connell, Leonardo Grigg, and River Connell; one great-grandchild; brother, Reginald Connell (Pat) of Buffalo, NY; step-mother, Betty Croft of Vincennes, IN, and Linda Calvert of Roebuck, SC; sister-in-law.
Graveside services will be 11:00am on Friday, February 7, 2025 in Heritage Memorial Gardens, 3901 S Church St Ext, Roebuck, SC 29376, conducted by Rev. Brian Redding. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
In memory of Philip, contributions may be made to Gibbs Cancer Center, PO Box 2624, Spartanburg, SC 29304 or a charity of one’s choice.
