Phillip Charleson

Potsdam: Phillip J. Charleson, 70, of Potsdam, passed away peacefully on Oct 22, 2024 at Massena Hospital surrounded by his family. Our Parkinson's warrior fought long and hard, but it was a battle he could not win.
He was born on February 10, 1954, to the late Donald and Katherine Charleson. He was the second born son of seven children. Phillip attended Potsdam high school after which he joined the United States Army. As an Air and Missile defense crewman attaining the rank of Sergeant. He served both in the US and overseas. Upon returning home he worked 20+ years in construction and masonry for Danko's Construction until retirement. Shortly after he was diagnosed with Parkinson's.
Phillip enjoyed hunting, fishing, buffet dinners, going to the casino and attending auctions. He was an avid sports fan of football and hockey. He loved spending time with his family and was a doting Papa to his granddaughter.
He leaves behind his wife Barbara Charleson of 43 years, daughter Jocelyn, her partner Joshua Goulart, and a granddaughter Kadaley. Two brothers, Donald Jr (Katie), Brad Charleson and three sisters, Joanne Melanson, Sandy (Les) Frank, Tammy Charleson.
He is predeceased by his parents Donald and Katherine Charleson, and brother Michael.
Our Parkinson's Warrior will be greatly missed.
