Phillip "Phil" W. King, 67, of Loves Park, passed away Friday, October 18, 2024. Phillip was born May 17, 1957 in Rockford the son of Vernon "Bud" and Kathryn (Scudder) King. Phillip married Florence Seah on January 24, 1985 in Singapore. Phillip graduated from Auburn High School Class of 1975 and received a Bachelor's degree from Maranatha Baptist University. He was a program manager for Lockheed Martin. Phillip was a US Marine, who was very proud of his service to his country. He lived for his family, loved his children, and his grandkids were his pride and joy. Phillip enjoyed playing the guitar and traveling.
Phillip is survived by his wife Florence; children, Jade (Jordan) Seward, Jenna (Kyle) Kever, and Julianna (Dennis Ronne) King; grandchildren, Silas Seward, Bowie Seward, and Lennon Kever; brother Daniel (Eddie) King; sister-in-law, Sue King; nieces and nephew, Lori King, Jason King, and, Krystal Hinrichs; and many extended family members. Predeceased by parents, brother, Gerald King; and favorite dog Jak. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Serenity Home and UW Cancer Center Madison.
Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at Olson North Main Chapel 2811 N. Main Street, Rockford IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Memorials may be made to the family for a memorial to be established at the National Museum of Marine Corps in Virginia.
