Phillip Michael Traylor, age 62, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, OH. Phil was born April 15, 1961 in Columbus, OH to the late Delores Traylor. He was a graduate of Independence High School, Class of 1979. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy and retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 2017. Phil enjoyed volunteering his time to his community, especially as the announcer for the Canal Winchester High School Track Team for over a decade. His favorite part about being retired was waking up whenever he pleased and spending as much time as possible with his children and grandchildren. Phillip is preceded in death by his parents, Delores and Francis Traylor; grandparents, Richard and Dorothy Dyke; brothers, Lee Traylor and Ray Traylor; and sister, Peggy. He is survived by his children, Caitlyn (Jorden) Lascola, Courtney (Terrell) Thomas, and Jarrod (Shainna) Baugh; grandchildren, Ava, MaKenna, Alayna, Kai, and Jayce; granddog, Leo Leo; sisters, Pami (Steve) Gall, Tracie (Roger) McPherson, and Sandy Haulter; sister-in-law, Karen Traylor; former spouse, Melinda (Robert) Hackler; special "brothers," Jeff (Andrea) Greenberg, Angelo (Jeanne) Edwards, and Geoff (Paula) Lafferty; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation will be Friday, February 16, 2024 from 11 a.m. until a brief celebration of Phil's life at 1 p.m. Graveside committal and military honors will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, OH.
