She was born on November 28, 1944 in Bloomer, Wisconsin, the daughter of Merrill and Florence (Ziebell) Channing.
Phyllis was a very religious prayer warrior that prayed with her devotions each morning while enjoying nature from her window. She grew in Wisconsin. She adopted her cats – whom gave her unconditional love and affection. Phyllis and her family traveled the world when she was married, including places such as Germany, Europe and Hawaii.
Survived by her daughter Elizabeth Freytag-Wurzbacher; grandsons Nathan and Joshua; siblings Curtis (Ruth Ann) Channing and Andy (Carol) Channing; nieces and nephews Lisa (Jake), Kristi (Joshua), Abel (Laura), Brad (Mina), Amanda (Bob), Morgan (Jake) and Brooke (Josh); special cousin Barbara Moen; many great-nieces and nephews; special kitties Scheister and Cougar; granddog Rolex; many other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents Merrill and Florence Channing; brother Dale Channing; nephew Michael Channing and an infant brother Mark Channing.
A Memorial service for Phyllis Freytag will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at 12:00 PM at The Peterson Chapel, St. Michael/Albertville Funeral Home. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
