Polly Ann O'Connor, 69, of Mooresville, passed away Sunday, June 15th, 2025. She was born August 2nd, 1955 in La Follette, Tennessee, to her parents Vergle McKinnley and Lourtta (Carroll) Wagner. She married Maurice Rodney O'Connor on September 13th, 1975, and the two spent nearly 50 beautiful years together.
Polly is survived by her husband, Maurice Rodney O'Connor of Mooresville; four daughters: Dawn Williams (Shaun) of Martinsville, Alicia Davis of Mooresville, Andrea Clampitt (Keith) of Camby, and Kelley Bauer (Adam) of Franklin; seven grandchildren; two brothers: Kenny Wagner of New Jersey and John Wagner of New Jersey; and one sister, Virgie McGrath of New York.
Polly is preceded in death by both of her parents; one grandson, Jeffery O'Connor; one brother, Franklin Wagner; and one sister, Frances Wagner.
Polly, a cherished member of her community, graduated from Matawan High School in Matawan, New Jersey, in 1973. With a strong sense of duty, she served in the United States Air Force as an airman during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1975. After her time in the military, Polly dedicated six years of her life to working at General Devices in Indianapolis as a laborer.
Her journey didn't stop there; she returned to school to pursue her passion for helping others by attending Ivy Tech College to study medical coding. Polly had a deep love for reading and gardening, which brought her joy and peace. Her compassion extended to all animals, reflecting her kind-hearted nature. Known and adored by many, Polly was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
