Ms Rachel Elizabeth Martinez

Rachel Martinez, 48, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 13, 2025 at the Chambersburg Hospital. She was born on December 31, 1976, in McConnellsburg, PA, the daughter of Manasseh DeShong and Michael Atkins. She attended Central Fulton School district and completed her GED in 2019. She flourished in the homecare field, and later achieved her goals to become a house manager assisting special need adults. In Rachel's free time she enjoyed, nail art, spending time with her family, thrifting on Sundays, loved coloring/drawing and was an incredible singer.
Rachel was very caring and volunteered several hundred hours through out the community, mostly Little Daisy's Closet and Salvation Army.
Rachel is survived by her soul mate Victor Diaz, (Father) Michael Atkins, (Mother), Manasseh DeShong, Sue Atkins (Step mother) Brooke Atkins (Sister) and husband Erick Solis (cuñado) Judith Becker ( Sister) Anthony Atkins ( Brother) & his wife April Atkins as well as several other family members. Her best attribute was being a mother of nine, and loving her children. Mya & Lucille Diaz & Lynzee Atkins who resided with her in the home. She is survived by 7 grandchildren with the youngest grandchild Nayelee Irene Diaz who also resided with her. Rachel is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Charles & Lucille Atkins and her maternal grandparents Lindy & Theda DeShong as well as various aunts uncles, & cousins. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Cancer Society. Private services will be held at Sellers funeral home in Chambersburg and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
