Visitation at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home, Temple, OK, Saturday, April 4, 2026 at 11:00 am, followed by a graveside service in the Temple Cemetery at 12:30 pm.
Ramona LeeEtta (Wills) Black was born to David C. and Della Lucille (Lawler) Wills on May 19, 1930 in Temple, OK and departed this life in Oklahoma City, OK on March 29, 2026 at the age of 95 years, 10 months and 10 days.
The family moved to Durango, CO for several years and then returned to Temple when Ramona was 12. She graduated from Temple High School in 1948 and then attended college. She married Sloan Jackson “Jack” Black on December 23, 1950 in Temple and to the union 3 sons were born.
The young family moved around with Jack’s career in oil and gas, living at Norman, Houston, Kingsville, Midland (while the boys were growing up), New Orleans, Lafayette and back to Midland and then Krum before settling at Denton in 1999.
The couple enjoyed their church family at Singing Oaks Church of Christ in Denton. Ramona enjoyed going to garage sales, cooking and keeping Jack in line. She loved spending time with the grandkids and loved OU Football. She was friendly and made friends easily everywhere they lived.
Jack passed away in 2017 and in 2019 she moved to Norman, OK to be near a son. She was also preceded by her parents, Dave and Della Wills; and 2 sisters, Marie Butler and Davene Wills.
Survivors include 3 sons, David Kirby Black of Hemphill, TX, Steven Carl Black of Norman, OK and Spence Randall Black and Gwen of Denver; 6 grandchildren, Cory Black and Jessica, Casey Black and Claire, Shea Wharton, Nathan Black and Jamie, Bailey Black and Joe Black; and 3 great grandchildren, Delaney, Georgia and Nevaeh.
