Ramona Lee (Foster) Searcey passed into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on October 15, 2024. We will miss her so; we love her “A bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck” as she said in the last months of her life.

Ramona was born in Taloga, Oklahoma in Dewey County to H.W. and Pearl Foster. She was the second of four sisters: Patsy, Ramona, Dixie, and Regena. She graduated in 1949 from Clinton High School (Clinton, Oklahoma) and attended SWOSU in Weatherford, Oklahoma where she received degrees in business, music education and music (organ) performance. She met the love of her life, Lloyd Wayne Searcey, while Lloyd was a pharmacy student SWOSU. It was love at first sight. They were married in Clinton, Oklahoma on August 18, 1950, and had a wonderful life together for over 74 years.

After Lloyd completed his degree in Pharmacy, he and Ramona built and operated a successful pharmacy business in Hollis OK. Their two children, son Scott and daughter Michele, were born while in Hollis. The family moved back to Clinton in 1974 to return to farming and ranching, as they loved raising cattle and the farming life. Ramona was an excellent gardener and enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens at home in Clinton and on their beloved farms just west of Clinton. In the 1990s, Ramona and Lloyd moved to Edmond, Oklahoma. They enjoyed this time as their grandchildren were born, doting on them with lots of love and, of course, presents! Ramona and Lloyd traveled the world together, all while celebrating holidays and Sunday dinners at “Papa and Tutu’s house” for the children, grandchildren and their great granddaughter. “Tutu”, as her family lovingly called her, loved making special pies and celebrating each family member’s birthday with her signature flair. She instilled a love of music, art, travel, and literature that is still alive in her children and their children.

Ramona was a talented church organist and pianist, playing for both the Hollis First Baptist Church and the Clinton First Baptist Church. She played for Clinton Rotary for over 25 years. Ramona not only played piano and organ beautifully, but always dressed beautifully and was a delight for the eyes as well as the ears. She was a member of PEO for 50 years. She and Lloyd were both members of Quail Springs Baptist Church.

Ramona was the happiest and most joyful as a wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother. Ramona added a special touch to every holiday, birthday and special occasion. Shopping sprees, trips to Europe, Hawaii, Alaska, and Colorado are special memories for her family. Listening to Tutu play Danny Boy and Eidelweiss on her piano was a special gift she gave her family. Her “sister trips” were famous as she, Regena, and Dixie would travel to Europe many times together. Ramona and Lloyd loved their homes in Hawaii and Colorado, and Ramona loved having her family vacation there as well.

Ramona is survived by her husband, Lloyd, her sister Regena Browne, her children, Michele Searcey Hart (Paul Hart, dec’d), Dr. Scott Searcey (Dr. Mary Beth Humphrey), five grandchildren: Joshua Hart, Anna Martin (Wade), Patrick Searcey (Jennifer), Audra Humphrey, Laura Humphrey, one great grandchild, Cora Searcey. She was “Aunt Mona” to three nieces and four nephews.
