Obituary of Ranada Elaine Wilson
Ranada Elaine Wilson, 43, of Monroe, Michigan, died unexpectedly on Friday, December 292023, due to medical complications. Her family is deeply saddened by her untimely death. She was the firstborn to Charles and Carol Wilson on May 5th, 1980. She will be remembered for her playful spirit, beautiful smile, tenacity, and heart for people.
Ranada graduated from Monroe High School with the class of 1998. She was a member of the Track and Field team and dedicated her time to the Monroe High School Honors Choir. She received a full-ride scholarship to Monroe Community College for her vocal ability.
In 2016, Ranada graduated as a Registered Nurse from ITT Technical Institute. She worked for the University of Kentucky Health Care System for four and a half years. Ranada previously worked as a hospice home care nurse, a licensed massage therapist, and a flight attendant.
Ranada loved to travel and was especially fond of road trips. She also loved music and attended any concert she could. She loved the boy band, NSYNC, and as a young adult, followed their tour from Michigan to Chicago. She was a huge fan of Michael Jackson and Prince. Ranada was an avid reader and loved Lifetime movies.
Ranada never met a stranger and loved to capture memories with a selfie. Her smile would light up a room and she always spoke kind, encouraging words to everyone she met. Ranada loved her grumpy, grey dog, "King Bentley" aka, "Bear." Ranada would take him for rides to Sterling State Park where they would watch the peaceful waves at Lake Erie and walk the many trails.
Ranada is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents: Ardell and Pauline (Mamaw) Wilson and her maternal grandparents: Charles H. Campbell, Jr., and Christine Hudson, whom Ranada could always make smile despite her mood.
Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Charles and Carol Wilson; two sisters: Renee Wilson and Roxanne (Roxy) Wilson; her brother: Charles (Mister) Wilson Jr.; her niece: Amani Bradford; her nephew: Desmond (D.J.) Martin Jr.; and an abundance of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Friends may gather on Sunday, January 7, 2024, from 2:00pm to 7:00pm at Merkle Funeral Service, South Monroe; 14567 South Dixie Highway, Monroe, MI 48161 (734) 241-7070. My deepest condolences to the Wilson family for your loss. Ranada was a great friend to my wife Tracy Miller- Vargas. She would come over with a beautiful smile and always seemed so happy. It was an honor to have you as a maid of honor in our wedding back in 2005. Your heart and laughter will continue to shine everyday through family and friends.
