Obituary published on Legacy.com by Palmer Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes- Holt Delhi Chapel on Jun. 30, 2025.
Randel "RB" Brown, a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025, at the age of 77, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born on April 4, 1948, in Newberry, MI, to the late Frederick and Lela Brown. RB's life was one marked by passion, generosity, humor and strength.
RB was a loving husband of 45 years to Vicki Brown and a devoted father to Lily Brown. They were the center of his world. His son-in-law, Russell Brown, was a blessing in his life and their bond was evident to all who knew them. RB's brother, Pat (Donna) Brown, will carry forward the memories of the adventures and life lessons they shared. RB was a cherished son-in-law to Junis Zumberg and a respected brother-in-law to Paul, David, Terry, and Renee Zumberg. He was an uncle to many nieces and nephews. RB's family was the cornerstone of his life, and the love and laughter they shared will be deeply missed. He now joins his late father, Frederick; his mother, Lela; his sister, Carole (George) Roach; his father-in-law, Arnold Zumberg and his closest friend Vince Foess in eternal rest.
After graduating from barber school in Detroit, Michigan, RB quickly became a well-respected hairdresser, a profession he dedicated himself to for 40 years. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to become a successful salon owner, where his clients became his extended family.
RB's healing hands didn't stop there; he furthered his skills by attending Massage Therapy School, adding massage therapist to his list of caring professions.
RB's life was one of active engagement and joy. He was a passionate outdoorsman, often found fishing, hunting, or perfecting his swing on the golf course. A true sports enthusiast, RB never missed a chance to cheer on his favorite teams, the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions and anything U of M, bringing laughter and excitement to every game watched with family and friends.
Those who knew RB would say he lived life to the fullest, with a generous heart and an infectious laugh that could light up a room. His legacy will live on in the stories told and the memories cherished by those who loved him. RB's presence will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, July 9th at Palmer Bush & Jensen - Holt Chapel. Luncheon to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Lansing, Stoneleigh Residence where he was cared for lovingly in his final days.
