Randy L. Anderson, 72, of Bowerston, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025 in Ohio’s Hospice Truman House at New Philadelphia, following a lengthy battle with cancer.
Born at Canton, Randy was one of 12 children born to the late Melvin H. And Catherine A. (Miller) Anderson and was a graduate of Marlington High School and had furthered his education by attending Kent State University. Randy had worked as a supervisor for the Stark County Weatherization Project, where he played a vital role in aiding families and improving living conditions.
Randy was also an honorably discharged veteran who served in the United States Air Force. His time in the military was a testament to his character, showcasing his discipline, and commitment to serving his country. This experience shaped him into the individual he became, always ready to lend a helping hand.
Randy is survived by his brother, Scott Anderson of Akron and his two sisters, Penny (Samuel) Shanower of Shreve and Joyce Sholtis of North Canton.
In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation care is to be provided by the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia and there are to be no public services.
The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to Ohio’s Hospice Truman House, 716 Commercial Avenue SW, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
