Randy (Turk) Lee Graves, 66 of Osage, MN died on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family. He fought a courageous fight with cancer.
Randy was born on March 14, 1958 in Park Rapids, MN the son of Charles William Graves and Janis Lorain (Stephens) Graves-Tigue. He grew up and attended school in Park Rapids, graduating from high school in 1976. He went on to attend technical college in Moorhead, MN, graduating as an electrician.
Upon graduation he became an apprentice electrician with Local #294 IBEW. He worked several union jobs throughout his 30 plus years of services. His greatest love was teaching the new apprentice electricians. Being a perfectionist, it made him the perfect person to teach the younger ones the electrician trade and teach them the right way the first time. He continued in his vocation until he had a stroke, which left him physically challenged. This led to a new career of sorts. He started "Strokers" Meats. He and a few buddies that also had strokes began processing deer, turkeys, ducks, and other various types of meat.
Randy was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was known for harvesting many trophy bucks and fish that we wish we have harvested. Randy was always willing to teach his craft to anyone who wanted to learn. Especially his nephew (son) Daimen Such. The two of them were side by side throughout the years. Anyone that knew his love of hunting and Minnesota Vikings, win, lose, or draw! In honor of this love, if you are attending this service we would love for you to wear camo or Minnesota Vikings attire.
On September 12, 1992, Randy married the love of his love, Ellen Shepersky. They have been together for 42 blessed years. Ellen had two daughters from a previous marriage, that soon became his.
He is survived by his loving wife Ellen of 42 years; his bonus daughters: Sharon (Gary) Weber, Rhonda (the late Jonathan) Maaninga (fiance Keith); sister: Christine (Morris) Maudal; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren; his brother-in-laws; sister-in-laws; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles William Graves and Janis Lorain Tigue, Robert Gary Tigue; his grandparents; mother-in-law; father-in-law; son-in-law and sister-in-law.
The family of Randy would like to thank the nurses and staff on the 7th floor of the Roger Maris Cancer Center for the wonderful care he received. We would also like to thank Red River Hospice for helping him on his journey. Thank you also goes out to the Dr's, Rozeman, Tingley, and Mahowald, who were crucial to his care.
