Randy C. Trochil, age 55, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday January 16, 2025, at his home in Shawano. Randy was born on May 13, 1969, in Green Bay to Clarence "Cal" and Joan (Check) Trochil, Jr.. He graduated from De Pere High School in 1988. On December 18, 2004, Randy was united in marriage to Lynn Riesenberg at Stony Hill Lutheran Church in Shawano. Randy was a proud iron worker and member of the local union #8. In Randy's free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, going to deer camp, spending time with longtime friends and watching sports especially football. He loved to spend time at the Trochil family cottage in Rhinelander. Randy was a smart and skilled carpenter; he could fix anything. First and foremost he was a family man; an amazing husband, father, son, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
Randy is survived by his wife, Lynn; children, Rylee Trochil and Josh Trochil; parents, Cal and Joan Trochil; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Gary and Barb Riesenberg; siblings, Danny (Jacqueline) Trochil, Jeff (Beth) Trochil, Carrie (Brad) Churchwell and Amy (David) Surridge; in-laws, Kris (Brian) Johnson, Tami (Jeff) Goers, Greg (Sarah) Riesenberg; and nieces and nephews, Kayln (Justin) Fictum, Kyle (Karlie) Trochil, Payge (Jon) Blahnik, Corey (Morgan) Trochil, Christian Rady, Dallas Rady, Blake Churchwell, Eric Churchwell, Elsie Trochil, Easton Trochil, Hannah Surridge, Thomas Surridge, Heather Haeflinger, Taylor Johnson, Alli Johnson, Katie Goers, Abby Goers, Jack Goers, Brett Riesenberg, Barric Riesenberg and Braxton Riesenberg. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
A funeral service for Randy will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday January 25, 2025, at St. Jakobi Lutheran Church with Pastor Travis Kleinschmidt officiating. Visitation will be held at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Friday January 24, 2025, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm then again at the church on Saturday from 9:30 am until the time of the service. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery following the service.
