Randy Vaughn, 68, of Decatur Texas, met his savior Jesus on September 23, leaving behind a legacy as big as the man himself.

Standing 6'6", Randy was a larger-than-life cowboy whose strength in the arena was matched only by his strength of character. Known affectionately by some as "Chico," he was a champion steer wrestler, a rodeo legend, and more importantly, a beloved husband and soulmate, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

Randy's rodeo accolades were many-National Finals Rodeo qualifier, Texas Circuit Champion, and winner of some of the sport's most prestigious events. But what defined him wasn't the buckles he earned-it was the lives he touched. His presence filled every room, every arena, and every heart lucky enough to know him.

Randy was a man of deep Christian faith. He was a devoted member of Victory Family Church in Decatur, where he served faithfully for many years as a volunteer and head usher. His church was a cornerstone of his life, and his quiet leadership, warm smile, and unwavering commitment were a blessing to all who worshiped beside him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Vaughn; daughter Audrey Vaughn Klein and her husband Sean; sons Adam Sanderson, Weldon Vaughn and wife Amanda, and their son Walker; Wilson Vaughn; and Winston Vaughn.

Also surviving are his mother Mary Vaughn; sisters Linda Lucas and Debra Jackson; brother-in-law GA Buckner; nephew Colby Hunt (Brooke); nieces Kelly Jo Martin (Maury), Tammy Buckner, Cindy Barksdale (Arnie), Brandy Avery (Derrick), Toby Musil (Joey), and Janzen Jackson.

Randy was preceded in death by his father Charlie Vaughn, sister Jan Buckner, and mother-in-law Jane Parks.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, September 28, at 3 PM at Victory Family Church in Decatur, Texas.

Randy Vaughn will be remembered not just for what he did, but for how he lived-rooted in faith, filled with love, and committed to lifting others every step of the way and bringing the salvation message to all that he encountered. Furthering the kingdom of God was his true mission in life. And now he is with the Father. "Well done my good and faithful servant, well done."
