Frances Rebecca Anderson ("Becky")
Frances Rebecca Anderson, lovingly known as Becky, passed away peacefully on August 7,
2024, at the age of 82. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, co-worker, and
friend, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Born on August 24, 1941, in Rome, Georgia, Becky was the second of six children. Her family
moved to West Palm Beach, Florida, for her school years, and shortly after her high school
graduation, they relocated to Oklahoma. Becky began her career as a bookkeeper before
marrying Dan Anderson in April 1963. Together, they welcomed their children, Jenni and Steve,
while residing in Duncan, Oklahoma.
Becky and Dan's journey took them across the country, living in various places including
Poughkeepsie, New York; Keller, Texas; Los Banos, California; and finally returning to
Oklahoma upon Dan's retirement. Following Dan's passing, Becky made her home in Midwest
City, Oklahoma.
A devoted stay-at-home mom, Becky was deeply involved in her children's lives until they
graduated from high school. She then worked at JCPenney in the catalog department, from which
she eventually retired.
Becky and Dan shared a love for travel and embarked on numerous adventures in their custom
RV. They explored the United States, Canada, and Mexico, with Becky proudly visiting 49 out
of 50 states. Hawaii remained the only one she did not see.
Becky was also known for her love of her grandchildren, enjoying special outings to the movies,
children's museums, and collecting Happy Meal toys. Her warm and nurturing spirit made every
visit memorable for her family.
She is survived by her daughter Jenni Dorough (John) of Lino Lakes, Minnesota; son Steve
Anderson (Christina) of Mustang, Oklahoma; grandchildren Aaron Dorough, Katie Dorough,
and Haley Anderson; and sisters Barbara Phelps, Mary Green, and Rhonda Traue of Oklahoma
City.
Becky was preceded in death by her husband Dan Anderson; her parents Alfred and Gladys
Green; her brother Alfred M. Green; and her sister Beverly Hutcherson.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, August 12, at 10:00 a.m. at Barnes
Friederich Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Sunday, August 11, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.,
with the family present from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Flowers can be sent to Barnes Friederich
Funeral Home at 1820 South Douglas Boulevard, Midwest City, OK 73130.
Becky's memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
