Regina "Gina" Rene Vaught, age 63, of Harrison, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025. She was born on December 3, 1961, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the daughter of Robert and Betty (Thrasher) Fisher.
Gina was a graduate of IUPUI and proudly served as a nurse for more than 40 years. She spent many of those years caring for residents in nursing homes, where her compassion and gentle touch brought comfort and dignity to those she served. Most recently, she worked at Lionheart Children's Academy, where she poured her heart into nurturing young children and encouraging those around her. Her caring spirit, dedication, and joyful personality made her a blessing to countless patients, families, and co-workers throughout her career.
She was the beloved wife of Matthew Vaught; loving mother of Isaac Wells; and cherished "bonus mom" to Adrienne (Bill) Bader and Jessica (Chas) Ortwein. She was the proud grandmother of Aubrey, Ally, and Jacob Bader, Naomi and Michael Ortwein, and adored them all deeply. Gina was the dear sister of Sherry Daniels and Mark Fisher, and she is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Gina was known by many as silly, fun, kind, and sweet. She loved her family wholeheartedly-especially her son, Isaac-and found joy in life's simple moments: sitting by the pool, walking along the beach, caring for her cat Leni, and searching for the perfect bargain. She was known for her sweet spirit, her love for Jesus, and her gift of music. Gina loved to sing in the church choir and used her voice to lift others toward faith and hope.
A visitation will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 7:00 PM, led by Pastor Greg Edens, at Brater-Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine St., Harrison, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bright Christian Church Benevolence Fund in Gina's memory. A member of the funeral home staff will be available to assist with donations.
Gina's life was a song of kindness, laughter, and faith-a melody that will continue to echo in the hearts of all who knew her.
