Marvin Davis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brater-Winter Funeral Home (Harrison) from Oct. 6 to Oct. 7, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Marvin L. Davis Jr., a cherished father and grandfather, passed away on October 5, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on December 6, 1948, in Columbus, Ohio to Marvin L Sr and Rosemary (Wheaton) Davis.
Marvin was a true character - funny, loving, and wise with a vast knowledge that could rival any Jeopardy player. He had a generous spirit and loved people, never knowing a stranger. Whether sharing a tale from one of his epic motorcycle trips out West or recounting memories from the many saved keepsakes he held onto, Marvin could light up a room with his stories.
He was a proud Free Mason and an accomplished Sensei, holding a fifth-degree black belt - a testament to his dedication and love for martial arts. Marvin was a retired police officer and worked for the State of Ohio, continuing his lifelong commitment to service. He enjoyed traveling, camping, and fishing with his beloved family, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Those left to cherish the memories Marvin created are his children, Marvin Davis III, Angela (Jared) Miller; bonus children, James Shaw and Greg Shaw; grandchildren, Zach Hoffman, Savannah Shaw, Abrial (Hunter) Cornelius, Serene Miller, and Dalton Miller; siblings, Ruth Davis-Smith and Sharon Bay; and his former wife, Cathy Turner Noack, who remained a valued part of his life story.
Preceded in death by his parents, Marvin L Sr & Rosemary Davis; grandson: Easton Miller; and siblings, John Davis and Marcia Varner.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Marvin's life. Visitation will take place at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine St, Harrison on October 9, 2025, beginning at 10:00 AM. A funeral service will follow at noon. Burial to follow at Venice Cemetery at 1:30 PM.
Memorials may be made to Church on Fire Farmer's Market. A funeral home representative will be available at the services to assist with your donation.
Marvin will be missed deeply but remembered fondly for his kindness, humor, and zest for life. In his honor, let's carry forward his joyful spirit and love for adventure.
