In Loving Memory of Reuben L. Tanner Jr.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Reuben L. Tanner Jr., who departed this life on Monday, May 19th. Born and raised in Albany, New York, Reuben's life was a testament to love, laughter, and dedication to family and friends.
Reuben is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 26 years, LaQuanda R. Johnson, who stood by his side through life's many chapters. Together, they built a family filled with love and joy. He leaves behind his two cherished daughters, Jamira and Kyara Copes, and his stepchildren Shayona Foulks and Craig Copes. Reuben's legacy is carried on by his three beloved grandchildren, Jaziah, Jordan, and Sanya Copes, who brought light and happiness to his days.
Reuben is survived by his father, Reuben L. Tanner Sr., who nurtured him into the man he became. He also leaves behind his dear sisters, Falita Friday Tanner and Janelle Twillie, as well as his three brothers, Joshua and Darnell Tanner, and William Crawford. His brother-in-law, Al Friday, and his seven nieces and one nephew will always hold his memory close to their hearts.
A man of many joys, Reuben had a passion for cooking, listening to music, and singing. He was known for his love of playing spades, gaming, and enjoying movies and animation. His sense of humor, storytelling, and knack for making his family and friends laugh will be deeply missed. Reuben also found solace and expression in writing, a craft that echoed his thoughtful and creative spirit.
Reuben L. Tanner Jr. touched the lives of all who knew him with his warmth, laughter, and boundless love. While words cannot fully capture the essence of his life, his memory will forever remain a beacon of love and joy for his family and friends. He will be profoundly missed but never forgotten.
