Published by Legacy on Jun. 22, 2023.
Reynaldo Cruz Sanchez, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2023, in Lubbock, Texas.
Born on September 14, 1937, in Robstown, Texas, Reynaldo was a hardworking man who dedicated his life to his family.
Reynaldo is survived by his loving wife, Aurelia Sanchez of 67 years, whom he married through the justice of the peace on January 13, 1956, in Clovis, New Mexico, and married through Saint Joseph's Catholic Church in Lubbock, Texas, on September 26, 1956. Together, they had four children, Reba Sanchez, Junior Ray (Dora) Sanchez, Teresa Sanchez, and Ruben (Nancy) Sanchez. Reynaldo was a proud grandfather to Christopher Garcia, Jessica Carrizalez, Danette Aleman, and Nicole Sanchez. He also had the joy of being a great-grandfather to Alexandra Garcia, Jonah Garcia, Adrianna Aleman, Amanda Aleman, and Alayna Aleman, as well as a great-great-grandfather to Eliana Garcia. Reynaldo is survived by his brother Alfredo Sanchez and sisters Margarita Romo, Beatrice Solis, and Mary Barron and preceded in death by his daughter Reba Sanchez, his parents, Margarito and Juliana Sanchez, and his siblings, Rufina Gonzales, Juanita Silva, Narciso Sanchez, Julio Sanchez, and Martin Sanchez.
Reynaldo was an entrepreneur who owned and operated Ray Sanchez Marble Company for 45 years. He worked side by side with his two sons, Junior Ray, and Ruben, building a family business. His dedication to his work was evident in the skilled craftsmanship he produced, and he took great pride in his business.
In addition to his work, Reynaldo was a dedicated parishioner of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting, often taking his children and grandchildren on trips to share these experiences. Above all, Reynaldo truly cherished the time he spent with his family.
Reynaldo will be remembered for his hard work and dedication to his family. He was a loving husband to Aurelia, and together they built a strong foundation for their children and family. His legacy will live on in the lives of those he touched, and he will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
