Reynolds Carter Ferguson, Jr., affectionately known as "Rennie," passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, just days after celebrating his 68th birthday. He was born on June 21, 1957, in Manassas, Virginia, to the late Reynolds and Constance (nee Robinson) Ferguson.
Rennie was raised on his maternal grandparents' farm in Centreville, Virginia, where he developed a deep love for animals and growing plants that remained with him throughout his life. He attended public schools in Fairfax County and graduated from Chantilly High School. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army, serving his country honorably before receiving an honora- ble discharge.
At an early age, Rennie was baptized and became a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church, Centreville, Virginia, where he grew in faith and community.
Rennie dedicated over twenty-nine years of service as a custodian with the Fairfax County Public School System, retiring in 2007. His strong work ethic and commitment were recognized through multiple awards and commendations over the years.
A lifelong learner, Rennie pursued various interests. He took classes in Jujitsu and automobile mechanics and later earned a Career Studies Certificate in Physical Security from Northern Virginia Community College. He was an avid motorsports enthusiast and especially enjoyed attending NASCAR and drag races.
Rennie was preceded in death by his parents, Reynolds and Constance Fergu- son, his older brother, Tyrone; his beloved grandparents, McKinley and Maryb- elle Robinson and Roger and Mary Ferguson.
Rennie leaves to mourn, his uncles Russell and Michael Ferguson, special cousins dear to his heart, Sheila Lewis, Roland W. Ferguson, Caprisha Bose- man, and Renea Woods; along with extended relatives and cherished friends.
