Rhea Solar Obituary

Rhea graduated from the University of Rochester as a Registered Nurse and worked doing public health nursing in Buffalo, New York before her marriage. She stayed in Rochester for a time before moving to Olean, New York before moving to Erie, Pennsylvania, where she would spend the rest of her life. After raising three children, Rhea returned to nursing, working at Alpine Manor and Lutheran Home and retired as a Nurse Supervisor.
She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, playing the piano and reading about the history of both England and Scotland as well as reading romance novels. Throughout her life, Rhea took in many stray, abandoned and abused cats who provided much company to her over her time on this Earth.
Rhea is survived by her children, William S. del Solar (Linda), Charles S. del Solar (Holli) and Matthew S. del Solar; as well as five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Rhea was preceded in death by her parents; a set of twins who died shortly after they were born; her ex-husband, William M. del Solar; and her brother, Earl Steffen along with his wife, Arlene.
Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Tuesday, January 28th, from 3 to 5 pm. A private interment will be held at White Haven Memorial Park in Rochester, NY.
