Richard Albaugh

Richard Lee Albaugh, 74, passed away on February 25, 2025.
The family will receive visitors from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 3, 2025, at Memorial Services of Iowa (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd, Ankeny, IA). Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 4, also at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Ankeny Memorial Gardens.
Richard was born on December 6, 1950, in Des Moines to Everett and Margaret Albaugh. He grew up on a farm outside of Ankeny and graduated from Ankeny High School in 1969. In 1971, he married Beverly Scholes, and together they raised their two children in Huxley.
Rich started his career as an elevator manager in Afton, IA and Rockwell, IA and later worked as a commodity broker. He never really 'retired' from the financial world checking grain prices and stock markets daily. Trips were longer sometimes so he could 'check the corn'.
He took pleasure in gardening, bicycling, motorcycling, and serving as an usher with Beverly at various Iowa State events. Most importantly, he valued his family greatly and cherished his role as a grandfather.
Rich is survived by his wife, Beverly; sons, Corey (Jennifer) and Nathan (Stephanie); grandchildren, Charles, Claire, and Kendal; sister, Sandra (George) Karwoski; as well as other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Margaret, and brother, Randall.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the Ankeny Historical Society or Trinity United Methodist Church in Huxley, IA.
