Richard Allender of Fenton, Missouri, was born July 3, 1947 in St. Louis, Missouri to Herbert Sr. and Myrtle (nee Laupp) Allender and entered into rest Sunday, March 23, 2025 in Fenton, Missouri at the age of 77 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents; great-grandson, Nolan Allender; siblings, Herbert Allender Jr. and Lois Hofer; brother-in-law, Carl Hofer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Jan (nee Vaughn) Allender; children, Rick (Carolyn) Allender and Leslie (Scott) Holdegraver; grandchildren, Jacob (Rachel) Allender, Venie (Zach) Crabtree, Sarah Allender, and Sophana Holdegraver; great-grandchildren, Jocelyn Allender, Ethan Allender, and Isla Medna-Crabtree; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Allender; along with numerous other extended family and friends.
Rich was a devoted family man whose love and commitment to his loved ones knew no bounds. In the last few years, being Gramps to his great-grandkids made him the happiest. For 39 years, he worked as a mechanic at Lou Fusz Pontiac, where his expertise and dedication made a lasting impact. Rich and Jan had many fun rides on his Harley through the years. He also never met an animal he didn't like and enjoyed feeding the birds with his great-grandkids. His humor, work ethic, and dedication to his family and friends will always be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Memorial Visitation will be held on Monday, March 31, 2025 from 2:30 p.m. until the start of the Memorial Service at 5:30 p.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill, MO 63016.
