Richard L. Fleenor Passed away Tuesday December 26th, at the age of 86. He was preceded in death by his parents Dennis and Mildred Fleenor, and a brother Bill.
He is survived by his children, Rhonda (Perry) Griffin, where he made his home during his last years. Doug (Julie) Fleenor, Sheri Foss, Lori (Randy) Sommers, Nine Grandchildren, Twelve Great Grandchildren, his faithful loving "Kitty", Numerous friends, and mother of his children Jane Fleenor.
Richard attended McKinley High School, leaving before graduating to raise a family. He worked at the local gas station, delivered office supplies, and was janitor at Christ Presbyterian Church. He then was fortunate to be hired as one of the first employees at United Parcel Service in Canton. He started his 38 year career with UPS sorting and loading packages, he went on to be a route truck driver delivering to customers in the Congress Lake Area for several years. He always whistled while he worked and greeted people with a warm smile. In his last years with UPS, he drove semi pulling "doubles" every day to Cleveland. He received several awards and accommodations for safe driving, never having an accident, and was inducted into UPS "Circle of Honors". He always worked very hard ensuring his family's needs were met. Richard was very proud of all of his children, their families, and their life accomplishments.
His hobbies were talking to people, and anything automotive related, he loved buying, selling, working on old cars, and driving them to car cruises with his friends, he had written down that he had 200 plus different cars during his lifetime. When he retired, he enjoyed traveling in his motorhome with friends to different automotive swap meets, he loved going wherever the road would take him making new friends along the way.
Richard never met anyone that he didn't like and loved telling his stories to whoever would listen. He was always the first one there to lend a helping hand to whoever needed it. God truly blessed him with a pure caring heart, just like his mother had. Rhonda & Perry would like to thank special friends; Pat and Nikki for their caring compassionate ways, always being there when we needed help with our dad, and Clyde for all the love, and spiritual guidance, he has given us.
A special "Thank You" to Nurses Karen and Melody along with The Team at Ohio Living Hospice for their professionalism, dedication, and compassion we received and especially for all the love that everyone gave to our dad. He enjoyed all his "new friends".
