Richard Lee Frost, age 81, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, after a courageous battle with several illnesses. He is preceded in death by his parents, Willis R. Frost and Lillian M. Frost; his sister, Billie Jean Frost; brother-in-law, Paul T. Myers; and brother-in-law, Curtis H. Fraley.
Richard is survived by his sisters, Betty Myers and Joann Fraley; nieces, Colene (Russell) Welsh, Kaylene Welsh, Candi (Randy) Beeghley and Dawn Fraley; nephews, Dave (Jenny) Myers, Ty (Tammy) Myers, Greg (Sherie) Fraley; great nieces and great nephews, Brandon, Jarod, Nick, Chelsea, Cody, Chandler, Connor, Little Ty, Tiffany, Courtney, Ben, Gabby, Matt, Emily, Lily, and Gemma; and many great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
Richard was born on July 12, 1943, in Chester, Ohio. He grew up in a kind and loving family with three sisters. Their parents taught them unconditional love through their care of Billie Jean. Richard would go on to study at college to teach and care for others. He graduated from Ohio State University as an educational instructor in 1966 and in 1970 from Michigan State University in social sciences. He studied at the Diocese of Southern Michigan and attended General Theological Seminary in New York, NY. In 1973, Richard was selected to go to Ascona, Switzerland to participate and study in the Eranos Taguntz lectures "Le Monde Des Couleurs." He had a residency study at Bellevue Hospital New York, NY and in the Psychology department of the University of Michigan, in which he became a Behavioral/Cognitive therapist. In later years, he developed an educational study plan to aid high school seniors with proficiency tests.
Richard was a devout Christian, baptized in The Name of The Father and The Son and The Holy Ghost. He began as a member of the Chester Methodist Church in Chester, Ohio, the Christ Church Episcopal in Adrian, Michigan, and converted to Catholicism at St. Matthew the Apostle in Gahanna, Ohio, the Sacred Heart Society and the Society of the Devine Salvatorians.
Richard loved his family above all else and was a devoted caregiver to his sister, Billie Jean and mother, Lillian. Richard loved his two dogs "Bud" and "Cole", record collecting, fishing, sports but most of all, he loved to engage in conversation, and no one was a stranger.
He will be dearly missed.
