Richard (Rab) Gagliano, loving father, grandfather, uncle, brother-in-law and friend, passed away on June 14 at the Bey Lea Care Center at the age of 74. Rich was born in Queens and moved to Toms River in 1958. He began working as a masonry apprentice at an early age and worked decades as a skilled mason. He later earned his Master Gardener certification at the Rutgers Agricultural Center and was employed at Harrogate Life Care Community until his retirement, bringing smiles and laughter to the residents with his charm and humor.
Rich loved being outdoors, especially watching his sons play baseball. He enjoyed sports, horse racing, a good bowl of pasta and hanging out with his sons and friends in his garage enjoying life. He was a kind and caring man with a strong faith in God. He will be deeply missed and always remembered with a smile.
Rich was predeceased by his parents James and Mary (Ryan) Gagliano and his brother and sister-in-law Bill and Annie Weremecki. He is survived by his sons, Dominic, Nicholas and Vincent; grandchildren Savannah, Brayden and Nicholas, his sister Eileen Gagliano, his former wife Donna Appignani and her family, along with friends and co-workers and his nieces and nephews who thought the world of him and will always treasure Uncle Rab's words of wisdom.
The family would like to thank the staff at Bey Lea Care Center, especially Sue and Ed, for the exceptional concern and care given to Rich over the years. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Joseph Parish Food Pantry 685 Hooper Avenue, Toms River 08753. The family will receive relatives and friends for a Visitation on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 4pm to 8pm at the Carmona Bolen Home for Funerals, 412 Main St., Toms River, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 685 Hooper Avenue, Toms River, NJ. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery and Mausoleums, 62 Cedar Grove Road, Toms River, NJ. Condolences may be expressed to the family by visiting www.carmonabolenfh.com.
