His Legacy Richard "Dick" C. Higgs, 85, passed away May 22, 2023. He was born on August 11, 1937, in Detroit, Michigan to John Higgs and Lorraine (Jurnis) Higgs. Dick worked as a test driver at Chrysler Proving Gounds for many years. He was an avid golfer and was a fan of all sports. He also enjoyed following Pinckney High School sports. Dick loved taking trips to Minnesota to go fishing for walleye. He was incredibly honest, selfless, and had the biggest heart in the world. Dick was happiest when he was gathered with his family and friends, with a Pabst Blue Ribbon in his hand. After every gathering he would always say "this is the best time". Thank you for all of the "best times" Dick, you will be greatly missed.
His Family Dick will be missed by his children, Richard Higgs, Sherry "Honey" (Garry "Bub") Johnson; sister, Fran Dinkel; grandchildren, Kyle Higgs, Ashlee (Tommy) O'Connell, Scott (Caroline) Johnson; great-grandchildren, Mason Johnson, Saylor Johnson, Carter O'Connell, Payton O'Connell; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Lorraine Higgs; and siblings, William Higgs, Robert Higgs, Midge Waters, Lola Campbell and James Higgs.
His Farewell Dick's family and friends will gather on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 from 4:00PM-8:00PM at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Shelters Chapel, Pinckney, Michigan. His Community Farewell will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at 11:00AM (10AM gathering) at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Shelters Chapel. Dick always had a smile and friendly hello for you. We golfed together at the Inverness over 30 years. Shared a few beers and lots of laughs.

Well I just would like to say goodbye to my old friend of over 50 years, I remember when I was a kid I wanted to grow up and be in great shape like Dick. He lived next to my grandma. I will truly miss his big friendly smile he always had for me and I'm not sure I ever new why,but he always made me feel good. Hick and Honey I am sorry for your loss, love ya always, George
