Richard A. Hoover

Rick Allen Hoover, 69, of Rockford, passed away on October 28th, 2022. Born on June 25th, 1953, to Albert and Nancy (Tighe) Hoover. Rick married Patricia "Patty" Ann Hopkins in September of 1973. They have been married for 49 years. He worked for T K Group in Cherry Valley for 17 years as a drug and alcohol tester for Northfolk Southern PR. Rick was a member of the American Legion and was a part of the Water of Life Ministries. He was also a dedicated member to the SM & SF Club for over twenty years. Rick loved riding his Harley, dancing in his favorite bar, Budweiser, and ACDC. He was an outgoing character; you always knew when he was in the room. But deep down he was a big teddy bear always joking and cared for everyone. Rick loved his family, especially his Patty Cakes and his two dogs, Pork Chop and Sister.
Rick is survived by his wife, Patty; children, Cindy (Damon), White of Rockford, Rob (Linda) Hoover of Tonica, Chrissy (Lance) Rosquist of Byron, Rodney "Hot Rod" (Fiancé Courtnie) Hoover of Rockford; grandchildren, Angel (Andrew Holst) Shockey, Brandon Shockey, Dylan (Jaretzy) White, Gage Hoover, Megan Hoover, Steven Clankie, Katelyn Clankie, Maddy Rosquist, Miranda Lingelbach, Dillon Lingelbach, Ethan Hoover; father, Albert Hoover; great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Hunter, Scarlett, Dexter, Colton; sisters, Valerie (Dannie) Smith, Robin Fenion; brothers, Sherman Hoover, Shawn (Debi) Hoover; step-siblings, Mike, Paula, Laurie, Kathy. Predeceased by his daughter, Corrine Hoover; stepmother, Dorothy; step-brothers, Bill Carey and Steven Farr. A special thanks to nurse Andie of Able Nursing and his special niece, Kerstein Bracken for all of their help.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 2nd at Fred C. Olson chapels, 1001 Second Ave. Rockford, IL., with Reverend Dan Hernandez officiating.
