Richard Lee Jordan, age 57, of Columbia, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024. He was born on May 9, 1966, in Columbia, Missouri to Richard Lee McDonald Sr. and Alice Jordan.
Richard graduated from Hickman High School in 1984 and went on to work for Thomas Motors for 30 years as a Car Detailer where he enjoyed making vehicles shine and look like new. He married Katy Dysart with whom he shared growth and life lessons to their children and grandchildren. Richard spent his later years with his significant other and caregiver, Charlotte Eckles.
Richard enjoyed and took pride in detailing cars, and also enjoyed playing dice. He was a member of the Hickman High School "C" Boys (Class of 1984).
He is survived by his sons Jermain Dysart of Moberly, MO, Chris (Shauna) Dysart of Moberly, MO, David (Dianne) Dysart of Longview, WA, Omar (Samantha) Dysart of Bevier, MO; daughter Valessa Tiger of Kansas City, MO; brothers Anthony Jordan and Richard Lee McDonald of Columbia, MO; aunts Shirley Rhoades, Sandra Bentley Jones of Columbia, MO, Linda Jordan, Brenda Smith of Oklahoma City, OK, Cassandra Huntington of Kansas City, MO; grandparents Gurnie Ledrew (Jackie) Franklin of Guthrie, OK; uncles Carl (Thelma) Franklin of Milwaukee, WI, Robert (Kaye) Franklin, of Guthrie, OK, Ronald (Regina) Franklin of Jefferson City, MO, Gary Franklin of Columbia, MO, Clarence Bentley of Jefferson City, MO, Tracey Hayes of Columbia, MO; significant other Charlotte Eckles of Columbia; stepmother Robin McDonald, as well as many grandchildren.
Richard is preceded in death by his father Richard Lee McDonald Sr.; mother Alice "Molly" Jordan; wife Velma "Katie" Jordan; brother Arthur Jordan; grandparents Fred and Louise Harvey, Minnie Alice Jordan Franklin, and William "Teddy" Bentley; aunts Joann Jordan and Lois Franklin; uncles: Charles McDonald, William Bentley, Harold Dean Jordan, Albert Jordan, Tyrone Huntington, Gurnie L. Franklin III; great-aunts Mary E. Turner, Lillie P. Thompson, Nettie Jordan, Odessa Eubanks, Althea Grant; great-uncles Herbert Lee Jordan Sr. and David Jordan Sr.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 11:00am at St. Luke United Methodist Church with a repast meal to follow immediately after.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church, 204 E Ash St, Columbia, MO 65203.
