Gary Lee Jordan, of Asheboro, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on April 26, 1955, in Chatham County, and lived a life marked by devotion to his family, community, and a passion for helping others.

Gary was preceded in passing by his parents, Rufus and Lola Jordan, his beloved daughter Crystal Dawn Jordan, and his siblings William Jordan, Rufus Lewis Jordan, Jr., Josephine Godwin, and Sarah Costello.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 38 years, Janice Jordan, whose steadfast love and partnership was the foundation of his life. Together, Gary and Janice built a beautiful family and shared countless memories, many of them on the softball fields they loved so dearly.

Gary leaves behind his cherished children: Dale Fogleman and wife Tammy, Melissa Jordan and husband Michael, Cynthia Laborde and husband Dustin, Kristy LaClair and husband Adam, and Shannon Kidd. He also leaves behind 11 treasured grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life, along with several nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.

He is also survived by his siblings: Joyce Ritter, Pat McClelland, Wayne Jordan and wife Belinda, James Jordan and wife Lucy, Larry Jordan and wife Cherry, and David Jordan and wife Pam.

Gary will be remembered for his gentle spirit, strong work ethic, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, whether gathered around the table or cheering from the stands. A fan of classic Westerns, he found comfort and joy in watching Gunsmoke, his favorite show.

Perhaps one of Gary's proudest accomplishments was the youth softball league he and Janice started. Their shared passion for the sport not only gave countless children a place to play and grow but also helped many earn college scholarships and pursue brighter futures. Their legacy on and off the field will continue to impact lives for generations to come.

Gary Lee Jordan lived with quiet strength, deep love, and a generous heart. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
