Richard Samuel Kellogg of Hot Springs, Arkansas was born on January 18, 1943 in Pasadena, CA, son of Samuel and Elizabeth Kellogg. Richard passed away surrounded by his family and friends on May 5, 2025 at the age of 82. Prior to his passing, he secured his eternity by surrendering his life to Christ.
Richard grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah and Denver, Colorado. He graduated from Cherry Creek High School in Denver and moved on to complete his Bachelors from Stanford. He then earned his Masters in Accounting from Denver University in 1968. He owned his own CPA firm for many years and was very prideful in helping others through his firm. In his free time, he was an avid book reader, enjoyed swimming in the lake and his pool, relaxing on the beach, traveling, spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and listening to Gavin Harper sing. He had a love for trying new foods and because of that, he and Cindy began a career as restaurateurs. Through this career, Richard was blessed to meet many of his friends and become more involved in his community. He became very compassionate about Our Promise House of Hot Springs and Cindy had a room there dedicated to his late sister, Nancy as a gift to him. Richard was also a member of First United Methodist Church of Hot Springs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Nancy Geist, and brother Bob Kellogg.
He is survived by the love of his life, Cindy Bowman Kellogg; his brother Jim (Susan) Kellogg of California; his children: Richard S. Kellogg Jr. of Oklahoma, Andrew (Kim) Kellogg of Bentonville, AR, Krissy (Jay) Rankin of Little Rock, AR, Jenni (Dewey) Hill of Little Rock, AR, David (Renee) Ponder of Hot Springs, AR, and Marquetta (Jeff) Peyton of White Hall, AR. His pride and joy were his grandchildren: Bailey and Sydney Kellogg, Bennett and Kaitlyn Kellogg, Dylan Rankin, Pierce and Alexis Hill, Chandler (Dakota) Dunaway, Whitney (Alex) Boyd, Colton (Summer) Peyton, Madelynn (Jay) Seale, Dakota and Josiah Peyton and his great grandchildren: Kynzlee, Maddoxx, Titus, Bennett, Allie, and Marshall.
Visitation will be Friday, May 9 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home on 155 Section Line Road Hot Springs, AR 71913.
A celebration of Richard's life will be on Saturday, May 10 at 2:00 p.m. at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home. Brother Rick Harvey and Pastor Mark Maybrey will be officiating. Following the service, the family will receive guests at J&S Italian Villa in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Megan Williams, Christine Hogan, and Hospice Homecare of Hot Springs.
