Richard Liles was born in Shreveport Louisiana on February 7, 1960 and passed away at home on Monday, July 17, 2023 from pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Jeanne Liles; beloved son, Nelson Liles; sisters, Virginia “Bambi” Liles Trickett and husband, Bill and Monica Liles Shocken and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnestine and Nelson “Buddy” Liles.
He was a graduate of St. Mark’s Day of School, C.E Byrd High School and Centenary College of Louisiana.
Richard began his career at Querbes and Nelson insurance and retired from Wells Fargo Advisors. However, his favorite position was being Santa Clause during the holidays.
He was a member of Kappa Alpha Order, The Cotillion Club, and past president of the Shreveport Club where he was recently awarded the Founder’s Cup award.
Funeral services will be held at St. Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral, 908 Rutherford St., Shreveport, Louisiana at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 21, 2023. A visitation will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home,1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, Louisiana on Thursday July 20, 2023 from 5:00 p.m to 7:00 p.m.
Honoring Richard as pallbearers will be Jim Pat Beaird, Jimmy Burke, Bryan Flournoy, Dr. Bart Liles, Jimmy Marrs, Clay Nelson, Byron Trust, and Merrill Wautlet, Jr.
The family suggests memorials may be made to St. Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral, 908 Rutherford St., Shreveport, Louisiana 71104 or the charity of your choice.
