Richard M. Lively, 77, of Evansville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at his home surrounded by family.
Rick was born on October 16, 1948, in Evansville to the late Charles Lively and Mary Elizabeth (Boyd) Lively Gilbert. He attended Reitz High School and retired from the Evansville Fire Department in 2000 as a fire siren. He also worked on the side as an auto mechanic. Rick was a very kind and extremely generous man. He would give you the shirt off of his back or give away his last dollar to a person in need. He volunteered at the Salvation Army and at REACT and loved to fish.
Surviving Rick are his wife of 22 years, Melinda Lively; children, Tammy (John) Ruff, Allen (Jennifer) Lively, Richard B. Lively, Richard "Wayne" (Amanda) Lively, Ryan (Linda) Lively, Rachiel (Terrance) Eckert, Amanda (Michael) Morley, Chris Yeager and Krystal (Charles) Schatz; his ex-wife and dear friend, Sue Jones; two sisters, Loretta (Bob) Attebury and Sharon Berfanger; thirty four grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his stepfather, Walter Gilbert; son, Anthony Lively; daughter-in-law, Kelly Yeager, and two grandchildren, Lacy Turner and Ryan Lively, II.
Funeral services for Rick will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 17, 2025 at Pierre Funeral Home, Rev. Terry Gamblin officiating.
Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 AM until service time on Monday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.
