Richard George Meyer, born June 21, 1932, in Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away on December 21, 2025, in Northern Kentucky. He was the cherished son of Oscar and Charlotte Meyer. Richard spent his formative years in Madeira before making Northern Kentucky his home for the latter part of his life.

Richard’s journey in photography began when he attended school in California before embarking on a distinguished career in the United States Army in 1952. Stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky, his exceptional talent behind the lens led to his appointment as the base commanders’ personal photographer. After an honorable discharge, Richard furthered his education, earning a bachelor’s degree in economics from The University of Cincinnati and an MBA from Cornell University.

Over the years, Richard’s professional path took him through different endeavors, from being a partner at Hill and Company and working as a commercial pilot at Warm Brothers Construction, fueled by his passion for aviation. His final chapter of work was at the Boone County Library, where he dedicated his efforts until the age of 88.

An avid lover of dogs, Richard found solace and joy in their companionship throughout his life. His passion for photography never waned, with his work being featured in prestigious publications such as Life Magazine. Additionally, he found immense joy in horseback riding in the vast expanses of Montana, a passion he relished on several trips.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Victoria Meyer, and three children, Amy Meyer (Greg Johnson), Charles C. Meyer (Lisa), and Jonathon Frakes. His legacy lives on through his five grandchildren: Thomas Selma Meyer, Sara B. Meyer (Michael Wenderski) , Michael C. Meyer, Stone Pops Frakes, and Signe Frakes, as well as his great-grandchildren Maci and Lexi Meyer, Caleb Keenan, Burke and Jack Walcott. He is also survived by his brother, Kenneth R. Meyer (Carol), and their children: Karl Meyer (Jenny), Tom Mack (Kathy), Jerry Mack (Kim), Dan Mack (Donna), Joe Mack (Heidi), and Jon Mack (Jenny); and niece Babbette Meyer. Richard was preceded in death by his granddaughter Laura M. Ewert.

Richard George Meyer touched the lives of many and will be forever remembered for his love of flying, his passion for photography, and his dedication to his family. May he rest in eternal peace.
