On the early morning of Aug. 28th, 2025, Richard passed away at Norton Audubon Hospital. Richard was 76 years of age.
He was born on January 30, 1949 in Jefferson County, Louisville, Kentucky. He is a catholic by faith, one of six siblings.
Richard enjoyed NASCAR racing, football, basketball, and loved the Kentucky Wildcats. Liked scratching his lottery tickets and always dreamed of winning big one day. Enjoyed reading and would often donate to his favorite charities; St. Jude, Wounded Warriors Project, and Countless others.
Richard & his beloved wife Wanda would like to travel often going to Virginia to visit Wanda's sister and ventured further going to other states.
He is preceded in death by, wife Wanda C. Tinsley, parents: John William Monahan, Evelyn Elizabeth Monahan (Sermersheim) brothers: John Monahan, Dennis Monahan, sister Janice Hopkins.
Richard is survived by his loving family, Sisters, Marianne Edwards and Cathy Mardis; Step-Sons, Darryl (Kimberly) Vanover and Dale (Jennifer) Vanover; Grandsons, Darryl Vanover, Jr. and Shane Marcum; Great-Granddaughters, Karissa Pannell, Riley Vanover, and Bella Marcum, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends to cherish his memory forever.
Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Friday, September 19, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 3:00 pm on Friday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel.
