Richard "Dick" Lee Neveau, 75, of Kewaunee, WI, passed away December 11, 2023, surrounded by family at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay. Richard was born on November 29, 1948, in Baraboo, WI, to the late Paul and Ethel (Hoefert) Neveau. He attended Preble High School, graduating in 1967. He went on to obtain a degree from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Auto Technology.
Richard met the love of his life, Nancy Shemenkowski in Kewaunee in 1983 and married her later that year on October 28th in Michigan. Together, Richard and Nancy raised 11 children. They also opened their hearts to foster children, caring for dozens of boys and girls in their home throughout the years.
While his love for his family would always be first, his love for all things cars was a close second. Dick opened and operated D & D Auto with his brother, Dan. He owned innumerable vehicles and could usually be found at the racetrack or watching NASCAR on TV. Dick valued his trips to various NASCAR races with his children and would recount those experiences to anyone who would listen. Later employment included working as a claims adjustor for American Family Insurance and as a supervisor for TSA at Austin Straubel Airport in Green Bay. Richard was a member of Holy Rosary Parish in Kewaunee.
Richard is survived by his wife of 40 years, Nancy; his 11 children, Kyle (Julia) of Little Chute, Adam (Annie) of Howard, Megan (Matt) Schaper of Kewaunee, Ryan (Brittany) of Bellevue, Tiffany (Jessica) of Algoma, Patrick of Green Bay, and Jackson, Elizabeth, Lily, Cherity, and Katelyn, all of the home. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Roux, Stanley, Aiden, Bentley, and Edith, plus another arriving in March 2024. He is further survived by his brother Dan (Karen) of Green Bay, sister, Nancy (Blaine) Hintz of Sturgeon Bay, and brothers-in-law, Joe (Cathy) Shemenkowski and Robert (Tracy) Shemenkowski. Lastly, he is survived by five nieces and eight nephews along with his past foster children. We'd be remiss not to mention his numerous pets, of the home and grand-pets throughout the family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, in-laws, Stanley and Henrietta Shemenkowski, and a nephew, Kurtis Neveau.
Visitation will take place at Kinnard Funeral & Cremation Services – Kewaunee on Friday, December 15, 2023, from 4:00-8:00 pm with a prayer service at 8:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Saturday, December 16, 2023, from 9:30-10:30 am at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Fr. Andrew Kurz officiating. Burial will take place in the Holy Rosary Cemetery at a later date. You may share your messages of condolence online at KinnardFCS.com. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Dick's name.
The family would like to express sincere gratitude to the staff at the Bellin Hospital ICU.
