Henrietta NY- Richard D. "Rick" Putt, 65, passed away on August 19, 2025. He is predeceased by his father, Donald R. Putt, and step-father, James Nissen.
Rick is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Robin Putt; his mother, Rosemary Nissen; step-son, Rob (Katelynne McCann) Groff; brothers, William (Margaret) Putt, Kevin (Frances) Putt, and Bryan Putt; as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.
Rick dedicated 46 years of his career to Wegman's Corporation. He was a true enthusiast, finding joy in building model cars, boats, and airplanes. He had a deep passion for NASCAR, particularly for Dale Earnhardt Sr., and a love for cars, owning many sports cars throughout his life. He enjoyed spending time with his two beloved cats, Jasper and Cubby. Rick also loved attending airshows to see the Blue Angels, where he found immense joy and inspiration in their performances.
Rick made a significant impact on everyone he encountered, stepping up to be a father figure when it mattered most. Though he was a quiet man, friends, family, and coworkers will fondly remember his contagious laughter and warm smile. He bravely battled cancer for many years, all while continuing to support his family and work a full time job. The world is a better place because of him, and he exemplified what it truly means to be a man.
Services will be held at a date and time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Wilmot Cancer Institute or Lollypop Farm in Rick's memory.
