Richard Anthony Salinas, 52, of Houston, Texas passed away peacefully with his family by his side on March 12, 2023.
Richard was born February 21, 1971, in Port Lavaca, TX and later moved as a child to Pasadena, TX with his parents and his three siblings. He attended the Pasadena Independent School District and was a proud graduate of South Houston High School in 1989. He always had many fond memories and tons of childhood & high school stories to share of all his lifelong friends that he proudly never lost touch with, especially in his final days. After high school he made the choice to join the United States Army and proudly served his country and was received his Honorable Discharge on August 26th, 1997. He went on to work for Great Western Metals for 25 years. He never looked at Great Western Metals as a job but more like a family in which he cherished and truly missed them this last year.
Richard loved so many things in life. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, tailgating, barbecuing, family, friends and his favorite team the Houston Texans. He truly was a Houston Texan "Ride or Die ". Richard loved so many things and had so many hobbies, but his all-time favorite was being a member of the South Houston Smokers Cooking Team. This was not just any cooking team this was a brotherhood that spanned a lifetime and a brotherhood like no other. A brotherhood that he was always proud of and truly cherished. Richard never met a stranger; he made countless memories with friends and family. He truly lived life to the fullest.
Richard, was proud of so many things in his life but the one thing he was most proud of and he always considered his greatest accomplishment was his family. His wife, 3 children and his 3 grandchildren were his whole world. He always cherished and loved the time he spent with his family. He loved to watch his daughters' Amber and Julianna become mothers and he was so proud of the women they became. He especially enjoyed watching his son Jacob excel at everything he did especially watching him play golf. He couldn't stop talking about how good he was and how Jake was even better than himself. That was the dad he was, always putting his family before himself. Always putting his family's needs first. He was the patriarch of his family, and he left an amazing legacy for his wife, kids & grandchildren to cherish and treasure.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Alfredo Antonio Salinas and Irene Elizabeth Delgado,
Richard is survived by his loving wife of twenty-seven years, Gina Salinas, children and their spouses, Amber & Roberto Sanchez, Jacob Salinas & Ariel Montemayor & Julianna & Mark Ruff, grandchildren, Andrew Sanchez, Aaliyah Sanchez & Wyatt Ruff. Richard also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces that also loved and cherished him.
The Salinas Family will be having a Celebration of Life for Richard on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, in Texas City, TX @ Carnes Funeral Home. Visitation: 9:30 am to 11:00 am. Service with Military honors to follow promptly at 11:00 am.
