Richard Jay (Dick) Scheich 98 years Born; August 2nd 1924 in Detroit, Michigan to the Late Louis A. Scheich and Ernestein Scheich (Tessen)
Dick is survived by an older Brother, Louis A. Scheich Jr. and his youngest Sister, Judy Stein and brother-in-law Jim Stein
Dick is preceded by his Siblings, Donald Scheich and Gerald Scheich his Sisters, Carol Persons and Janet LaPorte.
An accomplished Photographer, an avid gardener and faithful bird watcher. All of these brought Dick to travel the entire border of the lower 48 States after having served in the Military as a Co-Pilot of a B-25 Bomber during World War II at the tender age of 18. Costa Rica was his favorite place to travel. The photo shooting of flowers, and birds along with the warm air took him there seven times during his life. After the War Dick graduated from Michigan State College now known as Michigan State University. He went on to graduate from Wayne State University with a Masters Degree in Business. During his business Career he worked for three different electrical manufacturers designing automotive switches to large electrical / mechanical switches, six of which carry his name on US patents.
The Family will receive friends Thursday January 26, 3-8PM at A.J. Desmond and Sons 2600 Crooks Rd, Troy, Michigan 48084 (248) 362-2500. Funeral Mass Service Friday January 27, at 11 AM, St. Joseph Shrine Church, 1828 Jay Street, Detroit, Michigan 48207. Visitation at the church begins at 10:30AM. Interment immediately following at Mt. Elliot Cemetery 1701 Mt. Elliot, Detroit, Michigan 48207
