Richard A. “Skip” Skinner, 92, of Carlisle, passed away December 5, 2025, at his home.
Born June 14, 1933, in New Kensington, PA, he was the son of the late Floyd and Vivian (Kelsey) Skinner.
Skip is a graduate of Plum Senior High School, Westminster College and then received a master’s degree in Airflight Engineering from the University of California. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, retiring as Lt. Colonel.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 101, the Carlisle VFW and the Military Officers Association of America. Skip was an avid fan of all Pittsburgh sports teams- Steelers, Pirates and Penguins. He enjoyed working outside, carpentry, music and was an animal nurturer. He loved his family most of all.
Surviving Skip is his wife of over 72 years, Peggy; his daughter; Margo Skinner; sister, Eileen Cardinal; sister-in-law, Sally Fisher; nephews and nieces, Randy and Sharon Fisher, Mark Fisher and Mira Comino, Cecil Fisher, Paul and Tami Krusper, Danny Krusper, Linda and Bill Erskine, Joe and Rogan Cardinal, and Tim and Melissa Cardinal; close friends, Matula and Scott Hazell.
Skip will be greatly missed for his kind and caring demeanor. He always loved to make people laugh.
Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
