Richard Eugene Tate, 60, of Indianapolis, IN. passed away in the comfort of his own home, February 8th, 2025. Rick (Tater) Tate was born, August 25th, 1964, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Larry and Linda (Land) Tate.
Rick attended Lawrence North High School, where he graduated and went on to become a certified auto mechanic. Rick, who many knew as the "life of the party", spent much of his life in the fast lane, enjoying the party and living it up. Rick also had a true passion for anything with a motor; the faster and louder, the better. These attributes could easily be compared to Rick's "big" personality. He would easily command a presence when he entered the room; Rick was full of confidence. Even though he seemed, "bigger than life" many people didn't understand Rick lived a very simple life. He wore his heart on his sleeve; he was a, "give you the shirt off his back" kind of person.
Rick is survived by his son, Aaron A. Tate, grandchildren Kali Tate and Kaden Tate, his mother and father Larry and Linda Tate, and two siblings, a brother Michael Tate and his sister Stephanie (Tate) Bussell.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel, 729 N. US. Hwy. 31 Whiteland, IN. 46184.
