Richard S. Tayvinsky, age 86, husband of Alice (Barans) Tayvinsky of Palmyra, Pennsylvania, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at Arden Courts Harrisburg, PA. Born on October 9, 1937 in Millville, NJ, he was the son of the late Irene (Laskas) and Stanley J. Tayvinsky.
Richard honorably served in the United States Navy. Received his bachelors degree from Drexel University and enjoyed a life-long career as an HVAC Engineer and Draftsman.
Richard enjoyed the ocean, spending time at the South Jersey shore, fishing, and boating. He was extremely mechanically inclined, enjoyed tinkering with cars, designed, drafted, and coordinated the building of two homes for his family. He also enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, designing and planting landscape.
In addition to his loving wife of 62 years, Richard is survived by his children: Steven R., husband of Marilyn Tayvinsky of Palmyra, PA., Alyssa A., wife of Robert Ore of Reading, PA., and grandchildren: Justin Tayvinsky, Holden Tayvinsky, Nathan Trauger, Brandon Trauger, and Nichole Trauger. He was preceded in death by grandsons: Aaron and Tyler Trauger.
Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Richard's name to the ProMedica Memory Care Fund, 444 North Summit Street, Toledo, OH 43604 assisting to purchase items or enhance experiences that contribute toward enriching the quality of life for residents part of the memory care community.
